This weeks school value is to do your best and it goes in the value choose your attitude. In my class, we were told to create a google drawing about how do we know when we are trying our best. Here is my work that I have created today.

My next step is to try my best in all of the work that I do for the rest of the year at school :)

In the past week, we have been focusing on being on time. My class has each come up with what happens when we aren't on time and what happens when we are on time. Here is what I came up with:

My next step is to be on time because if I'm not on time is not good and I will miss out on work and will have to complete things in my own time.

Poetry Response

Poetry Response

In literacy, we have been working on a poem named "My Shadow" by Robert Louis Stevenson. Here is my learning about the poem. 

When I read the title, I didn’t make any connections with the title.

The poem is organized with four stanzas and each stanza has four lines. The structure of the poem is A, A, B, B and it continues the same for each stanza.

The tone of the poem and pretty entertaining and while I was reading the poem, I just wanted to keep reading because I thought that the poem was very engaging.

There are also poetic devices in the poem like, personification and simile. That's all that I can find.

To me, the meaning of the poem is where this boy explains about his very own shadow. I think that the boy enjoys having a shadow and there's a lot to tell about it.

Google Summit 2020

Today in literacy we had the google summit. We learnt about different websites like biteable etc. 

We communicated by google meet and the presenter told us what to do. 

The sessions that I had was WPS Scratch maths, HPS Story Board That, SHS Unscreen and remove, YMS How To Use Prezi and it was very enjoyable.

Before morning tea we did two sessions and after morning tea we did another two sessions so all up we did four sessions.

I learnt a lot of new things by doing the google summit and while I was learning I was enjoying it too. 

Prototec

In maths today, I tried my seven times tables for prototec today because last time I got my six times tables all right two times. I couldn't really do much on my seven times tables because it has a lot of math equations that I had no learning of. Here is an example of my work for today.

As you can see, I am most definitely not fluent or know much of my seven times tables. I also did this prototec in 11 minutes, 28 seconds as I wasn't expected to but it was because there were some times tables that I was really fluents with so I had to think about it. My next step is to learn more of my seven times tables and then be fluent with them.

I think I'm doing great at my stage six basic facts but my next step is to get fluent at my stage six.

In the past week, in literacy, we have been working on a well-known poem by the name of "I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud" and the poet named William Wordsworth. We put all out learning about the poem into a google drawing so today I'll be sharing my work with you.

When I read the title, The connection I made was when I was at school one day, there weren’t many people that came like my friends. So I didn’t really have anyone to play with at break times so, in other words, I was pretty lonely

The poem is organized in four stanzas and each stanza has six lines. The Structure is A, B, A, B, C, C and it's the same for each stanza.

To me, the tone of the poem is happy and free.

There are also poetic devices in the poem like, personification and simile. That's all that I can find.

To me the meaning of the poem is that you will never be alone and that you will have someone by your side.

In maths yesterday, my group all did a prototec to check up on how we are with our basic facts. I tried stage six on prototec because I thought I'd challenge myself. I did this prototec yesterday because yesterday I didn't get time to make a blog post about it. Here is my work:

Today in maths, we all completed a prototec to check up on how we are. We had fifteen minutes to complete it. Here is an example of my work: 

I think I have done pretty good although I did get two wrong so my next step would be to keep practising so I'm good and fast at my stage 6 and then I can move on to trying to attempt at doing stage 7.

Inquiry And Arts Reflections

Art: I thought our Tapa Art unit was interesting because I had never learned about it before and there were a lot of interesting things that I never knew of. Basically, it was very new to me and I enjoyed it.

If I rate myself out of 10 for how well I participated in our art unit, I would give myself an 8/10 because I was almost finished but didn't fully finish it.

In our Tapa Art unit, I learned:

1) I learned new and creative designs and how to do them.

2) I learned how people create tapa cloths and the things to make them.

3)What people use tapa cloths for.

Inquiry: I thought our Social Science unit about inventions throughout time was interesting because I learned things about how life was back in the days and it was pretty rough and strict.

If I rate myself out of 10 for how well I participated in our Inquiry unit, I would give myself 8/10 because for me it was very fun to learn about seen there were a lot of different things.

In our innovations unit, I learned:

1)Only rich kids could go to school.

2)A lot of things were different than now.

3)There were a lot of strict rules you had to respect.

Talofa Tagata Uma! Last week in literacy we created a DLO around Samoa because last week it was Samoan Learning Week. The DLO that we created was some tasks/activities about Samoa. Here is my work:

Today in numeracy, we did some Prototec after we did a worksheet. I didn't get much time to do it and I had just started and just when I started we just finished a few minutes later. Heres my time and work:

I think that I could have done more but also at the same time I didn't have much time but my next step is to work a little faster and maybe next time I'll get more time:)

Today in class I learned some ways to get out of the learning put and how we got in the learning pit. The learning pit is basically where you start to give up. Its where you feel anxious and maybe sometimes worried. But there are of course ways to get out of feeling like that and that's what I'm going to be showing you. Here is my work:

How I have fun with my family

Today I created a DLO about how I have fun with my family. I think that it is good to make a DLO about how you have fun with your family because it's a great opportunity to do them now seen we are in quarantine. Heres my work :)

My Story

My Story Using Story Starters

The other day I made a story using Scholastic Story Starters. It was where you create a story using a story starter that you are given. You are also allowed to choose your own story starter which I think is a good idea. When I created my story I got (describe a very unusual day for an independent artist who finds a strange package by the door) as my story starter and this is the story I created using that:

I did notice that after I did the story I made a few mistakes so I'll try work on that next time. My next step is probably to check for mistakes before I click finish :)

Today my teacher invited me and my class to a video call just to catch up on how we all are. We all started off by saying hi to each other and then we took turns speaking and saying how our break has been. It was very fun and I really enjoyed it seen I got to see people from my class and my teacher! Here is a
